Ordering Process:
1. Consultation: Let's start by discussing your vision for the guitar. Whether you're envisioning a timeless design or something cutting-edge, I'm here to turn your ideas into reality.
2. Design & Customization: Once we've finalized the design details, I'll begin crafting your guitar by hand (and CNC). From selecting premium tonewoods to your choosing of hardware and electronics, every aspect of the instrument can be customized to align with your preferences.
3. Fabrication: The fabrication process begins with the construction of the guitar body and neck, along with essential components like the truss rod, nut, graphite rods, and frets. The base price for this stage starts at 1250€. Please note that additional work may be required for finishing, depending on your specific requirements.
4. Finishing: Finishing options include Polyurethane coating starting at 250€ for solid colors or stained wood. Additional charges apply for fancy finishes such as sparkle, metallic flakes, etc. Oil finishing is also available, starting at 150€. Please note that Nitrocellulose finishing is not offered under any circumstances due to its toxicity and unnecessary nature.
5. Tonewoods: Woods are charged additionally due to fluctuating costs and the wide variety of options available. As a general guideline, basic materials for a complete build start around 150€, but this can vary depending on the exotic or figured nature of the materials, with prices potentially exceeding 500€.
6. Electronics: Wiring is included in the Fabrication price, but parts are charged additionally. This could be as low as 20€, but costs can vary depending on the components selected, not the complexity of the job itself. Additionally, pickups are charged separately. We don't make a profit on these parts, so as long as they work, it's irrelevant to us whether they are used, new, refurbished, etc. You can even send your own set of pickups to be used in your build.
7. Hardware: Parts are also charged additionally. Similar to pickups, we don't mind where these are sourced from. Feel free to choose your hardware and even send used or personally bought parts. At Guittek Guitars, we prioritize crafting guitars and not from profiting from selling parts.
8. Setup & Playability: Obviously, all setup work and ensuring the playability of the instrument are included in the price (unless you buy a barebones project). We take pride in delivering guitars that not only look great but also play beautifully.
9. Additional Costs: To the final build cost, gig bag, gig case, or hard-case can be added if you desire. However, following our mantra, if you already have it and it suits your needs, why not use it? Finally, packaging and shipping costs are also added to ensure safe delivery of your custom guitar.
10. Custom Designs: The prices described above apply for existing and available models from Guittek Guitars. However, we can certainly build anything you want. Just bear in mind that additional design costs are added at a rate of 75€ per hour. These include CAD design and CNC machine time.
Pricing:
- Fabrication of barebones guitar: Starting at 1250€
- Additional charges for materials: Dependent on selected options, Starting at 150€
- Finishing: Starting at €250 for Polyurethane coating, 150€ for Oil finishing
- Electronics: Parts and pickups are charged additionally. Starting at 20€ + Pickups Starting at 150€
- Hardware: Charged additionally. Starting at 200€
- Additional Costs: Gig bag, gig case, or hardcase (optional), packaging, and shipping.
So roughly a minimum at around 1920€.
A Custom Guitars Build takes anything between 60 to 100 hours depending on the project, but in reality from Ordering to Shipping it can take from 3 months to 1 year.
